Iike 'Cryptograms' better than the new one, which is all right, but it sounds like Broken Social Scene minus the ladies.NC.

I have a problem with the new album. I only ever listen to the "Nothing Ever Happened" song. I am sure there are other songs on the album but i cannot find them.

Just got their Sub Pop 7 in the mail today - I had never heard this band before...Didn't like the A-side (Vox Celeste 5) all that much, but I guess I didn't hate it either... it has OK sounds/timbre - maybe kind of a weird, upbeat MBV texture thing happening, but never really seems to be going anywhere, songwritingwise(?)...The B-side (Microcastle Mellow 3) I liked a lot better - an instrumental that reminds me of some of the things I really like about Luna as well as some of the things I also like about a few of the mellower Dead Meadow songs and maybe even has some Dark Side Of The Moon vibe to it...? (does that make sense) - I wish it had been a little longer, it seemed to end too soon and just a little too abruptly...So that's kind of a 50/50 toss-up for me... need to hear some more stuff before I vote.

Seriously, what is up with these bands calling themselves "Deerhunter" and "Dear Hunter?" How about The Raging Bulls, or Taxidriver?

I moved from being ambivalent about this band to full-on loving them a while back and it hasn't stopped.Great band. For what it's worth, I find them much more enjoyable than two of their four key influences. I'm sure this means I have taste deficiencies.

Desire Lines in particular is fantastic.Even the lyrics in this song are good.Helicopter is my jam, but overall the new lp is lacking vs. Microcastle.
