That Sabbra Cadabra sounds fantastic. I'd use it and I'm not even interested in Sabbath-sounds.

Brimstone just put out the more compact and updated version of their crossover distortion, the XD-2.

Sounds cool but sound emulator/preamp pedals like that always irk me (for no reason other than because I am a grump). You could just just get a rangemaster clone and a Marshall/Laney or clone and turn up and you'll sound way more like Iommi.

garthplinko wrote:I also wonder how the demo guy had this setup - what amp/cab combo did he use? I'm always a little suspicious of these kinds of demos - especially with anything that is a preamp booster etc since much of the tone is how the pedal itself reacts with the specific amp.He was using a Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue (Pro Guitar Shop is pretty good at saying what they're using for demos). I'm guessing it's totally stock. I mean, that pedal doesn't sound like any sound you can get from a DRRI that I've heard.

Catalinbread folks are all super great. They do pretty well with these foundation pedals because they're a quick way to turn your amp into a simulacra of a totally different amp. I have a Dirty Little Secret pedal for when I do flyout tours and am borrowing a different amp every night.

I was interested right up until I saw that.Yeah, it would be hard for me to justify dropping four bills on that, unless I was doing a lot of home recording and it would get used a lot.I just couldn't get around that you could put that four hundred towards an actual "Neve" sort of preamp. Hell, most preamps come with a di input now.I don't want to knock JHS. It is just a box I would have to hit on a joker poker machine to consider buying.
