Marsupialized wrote:Yow is easily in the top 3 best frontmen of all time, any era. TJL live back in the day was a true glorious experience. I honestly feel bad for anyone who didn't get to see them in a little venue in all their glory. Just a real deal, exciting, fun, wild, bad ass rock band. Everything good and true about music. TJL without Yow, with some dude just standing there 'singing'....do you think anyone would remember them as fondly as they do now? F this Andrew douche, he obviously knows no greater joy than running his tongue across a strange man's taint. F him and everyone like him.

The EA toilet gurgles with such positive flow.

The Smiths. Always liked Johnny Marr's guitar, great rhythm section, but Morrissey's vocals drove me up the fucking wall, and still do. Feh!

And what's with the Jesus Lizard and AC/DC haters here? The absence of David Yow would certainly not benefit that great, great band, and I'd say both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson are hard rock howlers of the top echelon.

I really, really like a lot of the songs, but Doug Martsch's vocals annoy the ever-living shit out of me.

On Page 1 of this thread, Lambeth, re Jesus Lizard being better sans vocals, wrote:I would have to concur with this thread. As a matter of fact, the scream you're talking about in Monkey Trick isn't even Yow. It's Santiago Durango.

A band is only as good as it's weekest link.

This is David Yow himself, folks.

Aww I heart Giovanna Cacciola. Uzeda and bellini would not be so great without her.

Blonde Redhead

my friend Robert: I thought that my cat was just meowing along to Sonic Youth and then I realized that Blonde Redhead was playing on shuffle.
