He he, I get it. My intention wasn't to make people think that there are bands they shouldn't like. It's that I'm mentally insecure and really wanted to let everyone know that I love Duran Duran.

I love Duran Duran too.

The video tutorials John Taylor put out during quarantine are great. Excellent bass player, and seems quite down to earth for such a pretty man.

I'm not really much of a keyboard/synthesizer guy, but Nick Rhodes is really inventive with that stuff. That whole Rio album has all five of them on the top of their game. The isolated bass tracks on "Rio" are incredible as well.

Totally agree, and I should probably check out both Arcadia and Power Station at some point. I’m sure there are some gems in there somewhere?

I, too, will fuck with some Jane's Addiction. Not gonna buy an album but if I happen to hear one of their songs in another setting, I'm not complaining.

Guilty pleasures: I have a lot more tolerance for goofy prog than is probably healthy. Legitimately enjoy Gabriel-era Genesis. Can find some nice things to say about Rush. Have listened to concept albums based on role-playing games and thought to myself, "You know, this isn't half bad."

I like Jane's Addiction too - Nothing's Shocking particularly - though I totally understand why some people think Perry is annoying.

Jane's Addiction may have caused later Die Kreuzen to suck, but they had a few good songs.

Annoying is an understatement.

I'm not too surprised that Perry turned himself into a plastic surgery disaster. His entire head looks fake.

I am honestly have a hard time thinking of bands who don't have annoying lead singers.
The Beatles maybe?

So many great bands with insufferable hams for a frontperson.

FM steve's comment to Perry Farrell, when they played together very early in JA's existence, still cracks me up: "I've never listened to Rush before, but you're what I imagine they sound like."
