I really dig
Sheriff, for the music and the audacity to do what they do.
Recommended.

tallchris wrote:Have you heard "American Folk Horror" and "X Patriot" (recorded at Electrical)? I personally like both those records more than "Rally Day". Pretty definitive music for my time here in Bellingham.
I have, yeah... and while there were a few songs that really reached out and grabbed me.
I always felt they were one of those bands that were great live but never really could present that same brilliance in the studio.
Rally Day is the first record where I think they just totally nailed it dead on.
Then again, i've been meaning to pick up my own copies of those two records and give them second chances anyway, but I need to order them from Wantage I think, because Amoeba constantly seems to be out.

oh and i like the diffs
they're about 17 years old, and look like mall punks, but they sound like genuine punk rock to me

Just had my iTunes on shuffle and came across Nozomi Phoenix. When my band was in NY last, we were supposed to play with them at Asterisk, but that was the same weekend it got shut down for all the graffitti. I would have loved to play with this band, because I was obsessed with their EP. They sound a little like Soundgarden (due to their singer sounding like Chris Cornell), but don't bore their music with grunge cliches. Just good, heavy music with a political vibe.

Yes, she is really sweet. I have seen her live twice... very calming shows... on here solo on guitar.... I have two of her CD's but for some reason they have not made the heavy rotation in my home...

they recorded a damn good album here last year. i wish more people would just forget previous bands and give them a chance. in a way they remind me of lungfish, in the sense that they have one formula with endless variations of it. very exciting band.
