I think the teeny just popped out babies are pretty rubbish - they just look ugly and cry a lot and everyone who goes anywhere near them starts acting oddly.
Once they start being able to do stuff then they can be class so i will vote Not Crap.

I better keep thinking that too as wor lass is really starting to get broody. Fortunately, my earlier baby and children hating days are over and I am now of the opinion that in order to fully experience what it is to be human one has to try out this parenthood thing.

I am still, however, scared witless by the idea.

I never wanted to be a father. I did not take any pleasure in the company of children.

Then, when I began my late 30s, I started imagining things down the road. My life as it was, was fine, we had some money coming in better than it had before, and if that continued, I could see us becoming real comfortable. My wife always wanted a baby, but had some fear and doubt about how good we would be at it. We were running out of time if we were going to do it that way, and so I sort of decided for us.

It was a fine decision. My daughter has stolen a lot of my cynicism away from me, and given me new and useful forms of fear and hope for the future. Population concerns are legitimate. Bitching about your own total and constant comfort in a restaurant even makes sense to me, but any argument against babies is going to have a pretty good chunk of hypocrisy in it, since you were all babies yourselves. The future is going to need good and capable people, and without babies now, getting old is not going to be a viable option for the majority. I cannot think of a situation where you could encounter a baby, and properly blame the baby over the caregiver for your displeasure.

You and I exist because safe, reliable birth control was not available to our ancestors and they most likely needed shitloads of kids to work on the farm or tend to the fields. Cheap labor. Slave labor even.
