Winning bidder is in Japan. Seller is Reckless Records. $1,300 is a lot of bread.

4 digits for a record!
5 digits for a wristwatch!
6 digits for an automobile!
7 digits for a residence!
They should be shot!
No one should pay x amount for y product!
There ought to be a law!
Seriously people... sour grapes much!?
Is it all a bit absurd... of course!
But don't get *so* damn rankled, jeez.

if this was a copy of "the futurist" it's really not worth that much. it's probably worth less than your average shellac record.

I must admit that I get a kick out of the idea that Shellac has become popular among the robber-baron set. I will now go home, and ensure that nobody's pinched my cherished copy, to which I listen surprisingly often.

Surfrider wrote:A record shop in London who also have a mail order service have been selling a bootleg of "Friends of Shellac" for a while now. Although they call it a 'limited edition repress of 500 copies'. Fucking twats they are as well. Whenever i have been in or dealt with them on the phone/via email, i can safely say a good 85% percent of their staff are dick holes. Plus as a company they are always selling bootleg shit and trying to pass it off as something legitimate. I and all my comrades actively boycott these fucksters now.
I picked up a copy in Sister Ray in Soho. Was cheap though.

Sister Ray is the first place I thought of when I read Surfrider's description! Haven't been there in years though. Didn't they get bought by Selectadisc?

For what it's worth, we did find out it was not stolen (like Kim's).
