i like the one wherein kramer auditions to play himself (as Martin Van Nostrand) on the show and doesn't get the part.

Not Crap for every episode, but this one is a favorite:

Dean Jones: Doing laundry, mending chicken wire, high tea with a Mr. Newman?

Cosmo Kramer: It may seem glamorous, but it's business as usual at Kramerica.

Dean Jones: As far as I can tell, your entire enterprise is nothing more than a solitary man with a messy apartment that may or may not contain a chicken!

Cosmo Kramer: And with Darrin's help, we'll get that chicken!

so then any show aired on network tv is crap? silly minotaur. m*a*s*h* was crap? barney miller? taxi? cheers? all crap, no waffles?

sometimes a good one gets through. seinfeld is the best of the best.

Why do you assume that I didn't watch way too much TV as a young lad? A lot of me wants to call you a dickhead, but I've been drinking, so it's probably not called for. In any case, do you know way too much about Webster? In the Heat of the Night? Perry Mason? Gunsmoke? The Lucy Show? I sincerely doubt it.

Was this not the last network TV sitcom to kick ass? Yes.

Of course Taxi was great. Of course the Simpsons were great. Saturday Night Live was great (on and off) for about 30 years. SCTV was fantastic, too.

I never really gave a shit about Cheers. I guess it was funny, I saw enough episodes to make a judgment call...but I never really gave a damn. M*A*S*H*...I never gave a shit about that show either.

There was a time when network TV was all there was. There was a time when production wasn't so fucking slick that you could find an attractive actor or actress with a blemish or two. Those days are gone, CSI and reality television rules the roost, and we've been fucked (network TV-wise) since Seinfeld left the air.

Thank "Jesus" for HBO and Showtime in this post-Seinfeld era though...and The Larry Sanders Show in general.

Even "classic" TV is mostly terrible...it's just fascinating.

Seinfeld is not terrible...in fact, it's NOT CRAP.

Also, Arrested Development is overrated.

I've never watched an episode and I don't think I've missed much. Michael Richards, however, appears to be a moron.

I like the show a bit, but a lot of the episodes really don't hold up to numerous repeat viewings.

I don't know if I'll ever get tired of the fictionalized George Steinbrenner, however.

And then when Frank was selling computers.

(paraphrased)

George: Dad what is all this stuff.

Estelle (yelling from the other room): It's junk!

Frank: They're computers, (too Estelle) SHUT UP!!!

Frank: A few months ago I saw this movie called The Net, with that girl from The Bus.

Fuck me this show is so awesome.

There is a window of at least six months in my life where I must have watched a Seinfeld episode every day, usually in the company of the most charming housemates any useless 20-year-old dandy college twat could possibly hope for.

We were mostly high, and I don't remember the show very well, but I guess it must've been sort of good.
