Yep, I've got 2 x Mesa Diesel 15s. Another advantage is you can have one at home and one at a practice space until you need both to be in the same room. Also, backup cabinet.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 1:11 pm I cant comment specifically, but if it were me (and I have been thinking about this recently) I might be inclined to just build 2 separate TL606s. The individual weight is certainly less in that case, plus it gives you the option to have a 1x15 cab in the instances in which you need it. Might not be for everyone, but that certainly speaks to me. Then again I never even bring a cab to play a show.

662Somehow.. somehow that didn't occur to me. Thank youtommy wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 3:36 pmYep, I've got 2 x Mesa Diesel 15s. It also needs to be small enough fit into a rack mount face plate thingy (rack mount plate). I have the step drill, I can do this. I just can't find the part. Mouser is not being a big help.
Ideas?
Thanks, see that was the part that was fucking me up looking at the part because I have no idea what i'm doing

664Probably a better way to do it, but this will do the trick. Tie all grounds together. Probably at the chassis.Mickey242 wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 8:17 pm^Kniferide wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 10:43 amI think a DPDT is all you need. One pole +, One pole -, Ground is common. Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
665Is it possible to use a noise gate pedal in a side chain-y manner? Here's what I want to do: say I have a..
(KICK DRUM HIT)---------------->
DRONE SOURCE ----------------> NOISE GATE ---------------> OTHER STUFF/AMP, and I want the noise gate to open up on kick drum hits (fed by either a contact mic or a mic with a 1/4" line transformer). I think I could get away with having the drum hit significantly hotter than the drone source, which would be below the kick threshold. However that also means the blown out kick blip will be a part of the sound too. Is there a more elegant way to essentially trigger the drone source with the kick?

666I think your gate pedal would need a sidechain input or else it is looking at the signal input for trigger. a cheapo DBX 166xl or some such comp/gate can do the trick.penningtron wrote: Tue Feb 08, 2022 4:17 pm Is it possible to use a noise gate pedal in a side chain-y manner? Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
668Looks like Empress compressor has a side chain input. It's a little more $ but having it in pedal form is highly appealing. (but maybe a comp alone will only duck and not gate?)Kniferide wrote: Tue Feb 08, 2022 5:12 pm I think your gate pedal would need a sidechain input or else it is looking at the signal input for trigger. a cheapo DBX 166xl or some such comp/gate can do the trick.
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
669Exactly.
Something like this maybe?

Also the Boss noise suppressor allows you to use the FX loop and Input as a side chain of sorts. Finding a rack mount gate might be the best way though as you will get attack and release for the gate.
A little more cumbersome, but you get 4! Kick, Snare, tom, tom... Instant Reptoid.
