Ever heard the New day rising outtakes - Erase today and Listen? Listen was better than 90% of the songs on that album.

New Day Rising is the favorite of the Husker records.

I can see how people could dislike Sugar's FU:EL album, but I am stricken at how many hate Copper Blue...

I must be the only one who likes the Beaster EP...

Beaster is great, as is this Kiss The Stone bootleg called Bleeding.

I don't think I've voted - not sure what my favourite is - I sure listen to Land Speed Record and the surrounding live bootlegs a lot, though. Also, '80 Du live bootlegs are incredible.

But anyway - Flip Your Wig is lesser than NDR to me for one reason only: filler. It's got TWO instrumentals that aren't that great. Never cared much for "Private Plane". "Games" is redundant. "Find Me" I can sometakes take, sometimes not. Grant's got great songs, as usual, but "Every Everything" can get old. Bob really seems to start molding (Joycean pun alert) the Bob Mould of today on that record. There's tons of classics that stand alongside anything else Du ever did on "Wig" but New Day Rising, by being awesome and NOT strewn with filler, is the clear winner for me (between those 2!).

I always thought Beaster was generally considered by fans to be *the* classic Sugar release, ironic as that may be. Bob busted out most of the first side of Copper Blue to open the set on his '05 tour, but I'd love for him to dust off "JC Auto" this upcoming spring.

Beaster is the only Sugar thing I really liked.

Yes. I haven't listened in awhile, but yes.

I recall the transition from the first to the second track as a teeth-loosener.

I will listen to this today.

I remember when Beaster came out...I started to realize the 'album' was being redefined when the 32 minute CD was called a 'mini-record'.
"Tilted" and "JC Auto" are classics. I'm not a fan of the last couple songs...jesus christ, what was Bob smokin' when he did "Feeling Better"? I dunno, I like Copper Blue better than Beaster. But I like Warehouse much better than Copper Blue.

Apparently, the solo in Tilted drove Bob mad and made him quit writing them into songs for a while. Copper Blue was better.
