I have and thoroughly enjoyed it. But, and perhaps this is to his credit as an autobiographer, he made me want to cuff him on the ear and say, "Fer chrissakes, stop being such a weak little lemming!". He made himself sound like an utter twat and I think he's well aware of that.

This is the video for "Badstreet USA," the theme song for legendary Texas tag team The Fabulous Freebirds. Kyle Motor will love this.

Damn, no youtube at work. I'll have to check this out ASAP when I get home.

OK, just watched it. That was........that was somethin' else. I'd say that band is a lot uglier than the Traveling Wilburys. Awesome.

The thing is, I identified with his being a "weak little lemming" - I think most ordinary hair metallers were weak little lemmings/utter twats, despite aspirations to be hard-livin', hard-fightin', hard-screwin' rock 'n' rollers of the night.

I have briefly resurrected this thread to say that, thanks to blinduncledallas, I recently dug out some old issues of Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Raw magazines, 1987-1994. It is both fun and not fun. There are too many bands to mention - I don't know if they have You-Tube presence or not (and I'm not checking) - but highlight names so far are:

Kix
Only Child
Pretty Boy Floyd
Noize Toyz

Fuck, I'm off to snort some Silvikrin....

Please refer back to here and could you answer this for me - were there any actual articles about Kix in these magazines you saw, or was it just the same advertisements for their albums (I'm very curious).

Once "Don't Close Your Eyes" became an MTV minor hit, they had magazines covering them. I seem to remember reading an article about them in RIP.

A small one page article in issue number 217 of KERRANG December 10, 1988, detailing a short 3-show UK "tour". The article also refers to that "Don't Close Your Eyes" tune mentioned above as
Dave Reynolds, KERRANG journalist wrote: "like a combination of Aerosmith's "Dream On" and that old Korgis hit "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime".

They went on to support RATT and Britny Fox in 1989 apparently.

I'd scan it in if I had the facilities, but, hey...look man, this has just gone far enough, I am not getting into this shit...fuck off...fuck you...don't come following me...

Two pages later there are reviews of Suffer by Bad Religion and Step On It by Slapshot.

By the way, the fact you made me dig these KERRANGS out again also means that I rediscovered a Guitarist magazine from May 1994 with Motley Crue on the cover, and none other than Mr Albee-knee in a good 6 page article talking about his "new band Shellac". The Deity of Din indeed...
