I am no fan of Wilco, but if you are a real music fan and you aren't at a show to just be a social butterfly, then you should shut the fuck up and pay some respect.

Go play poker or billiards if you have to talk incessantly- don't do it during a show. If you don't like the band, then leave. What gives?

It's a shame that many quiet/ambient/acoustic artists can't play at MBV/Melvins/IronMaiden volume so all the ultra-extroverted yapper-motherfuckers would have no choice but to take their chatty selves outside or risk, oh, NOT BEING HEARD.

Maybe they enjoy going to shows with their friends and laughing and hootin' and squawking, maybe it makes them happy.
Maybe they couldn't give a fuck whether or not you even exist, let alone wanna hear your ideas on how they should behave.
Is your 10 bucks worth more than theirs? Do you think it is?
People like to unwind and have a good time, not everyone on the planet is a fucking stiff, uptight nerd. Most normal people don't go to a live music show to stand dead silent like it was a funeral or a movie. Why would anyone want to do that? Even the quiet stuff can be done without creating that shitty feeling like if I get up to go to piss everyone will give me dirty looks.
I've been to plenty of quiet shows where the person on the stage, being a true artist and/or somewhat cool was able to either get the people to be quiet without coming off like an ass or work the loud people into the whole show and everyone had a good time.
If you get on a stage in front of the public you have to deal with teh public.
If you go to a public place you have to deal with the public.
I'd suggest setting up more shows in your living room.

A drunk guy in a bar?
You don't say?
Just because dude happened to be in Wilco probably has nothing to do with why you were fired.
It probably has more to do with the fact that you were shitty, while technically employed by said bar, towards a patron of said bar.

Someone telling a drunk in a bar to fuck off? you don't say.

The dude went out of his way to go over and throw his rock star weight around, piss and moan like a fucking woman and have this broke dude who's just trying to make 20 bucks by playing records on a Friday night not able to make 20 bucks playing records on a Friday night anymore because his poor fucking rock star ego was bruised. Because I didn't fill my underpants with joy that this dude happened to be there and happened to like some weird record I was playing.
That's a fucking asshole through and through.
The type who would throw a tantrum on stage when he wasn't getting enough attention.
Maybe your employer just respected his customers.
Is it that hard to believe?
How do you know it was a dude from Wilco?
Did they say they were from Wilco or did your boss say some guy in Wilco complained about you?
For all you know, it could simply be some drunk ass claiming to be in Wilco that got you fired.

Alright Rick.
Keep denying logic and believing your own shit doesn't stink.

Fuck that. I have a good time at movies but I don't do it by gabbing the whole time. While the film is on the screen I shut my yap and watch the movie. If there's a funny scene I'll laugh or applaud. If there's a suspenseful scene I'll tense up.

There are appropriate ways of interacting and responding to art in a given atmosphere, and yammering at a show is not one of them. I don't go to a show to hear some dumbfuck ramble about his week while I'm trying to listen to Owen Pallett. And if I want to talk, I do it in an environment meant for talking.

You blather on about nothing at a show and get bitched at by the performer you probably deserve it, unless it's in a bar and you just happened to be there on the same night as a concert.

I just can't for the life of me comprehend the nerve of someone to sit on a stage, take people's money then tell them to shut up.
Do you understand how lucky you are there's anyone even at your fucking show?

Do the people talking understand that nobody paid money to hear them? Equally relevant question here.

It's just really rude to talk during a set. There's no getting around that.

I think his solo stuff sucks.
I just think you're holding a ridiculous grudge against a band based on someone you claim to be in said without offering any proof that they are/were in said band.
