Also, I think waltermalling is the funniest person on the board.

Mr. Intern_8033, I agree with you! Also: I have many times thought you and waltermalling were one in the same!

The damage caused by posters like toomanyhelicopters is, like bringing a frog to boil, usually slow, painless and undetectable. I think of him as the proverbial "hummer" or "nike t-shirt" -- once culturally obscene, but through a slow process of chipping away at our tolerances, now the status quo.

The fact that [TMH's fondness for long-ass posts] exists is the problem, even if I don't have to read it. By existing, it implies that such behavior is okay and gives the green light to more content that's like it. And before you know it, it's all that there is. There is a McDonalds on every corner, and you can't imagine life any other way.

What? TMH is the Marcel Proust of EA! How dare you?

And I agree with Mr. Midgett that these long missives are easy enough to skim or skip.

That is all.

Regards,

Mr. King
President, TMH Fanclub

Other people seem to not hate those those things, so not only would such comments be counterproductively individualized, they would be meaninglessly subjective.

Me, I don't like to see the English language treated like a $3 crack whore (e.g., failure to proofread; use of bad grammar, run-on sentences, passive voice and ugly "ize" verbs).

Maybe everyone can agree on this thing!

Nah, toomanyhellicopters isn't a troll at all (scroll 3/4 of the way down page):

Long url

We need more people like him telling people what they can and cannot say. Especially since I prefaced everything I said with "this is my opinion."

I saw a beautiful rainbow recently.

True story. It arced out of the sky like a CGI-design archtype, surreal and real at the same time. It passed far above the city - as absolute high-relief zenith of encapsulated contradictory opposites as there ever was.

Assholes are assholes.

Bullshit is bullshit.

Intern_8033 wrote:Surely, nothing brings us together like nitpicking grammar.

I've been called a nitpicker by a person who harps on the issue of post length. This is amusing to me.

Andrew, I believe that we are interested in the same result, which is clarity and brevity of expression. Based on our respective comments in this thread, I believe that we agree on this point.

Therefore, I do not believe that I am nitpicking by pointing out your haphazard English, particularly when you use it to demean another person's expression.

At the same time, I must admit that the phrase "counterproductively individualized" is breathtaking in its audacity. You are nothing if not bold, Young Andrew.
