Sterolab (Dot and Loops tour)
Sonic Youth (all 3 times I saw them)
Fugazi
Mastodon

you see fugazi once and that's all you need to see them.

first time: rocked my ass.
every other time: put to sleep. end already!

as rollins once put it about the ramones: "hurry up and end so i can go home and say that i saw you."
buy my guitar. now with pictures!

saw herman dune the other night and was deeply angered by them ... as I feared I would be. have friends who I care for who adore them, and who invited me along. I feel they're being duped big-time. it's like they're being lured into the bushes by the manson family.

Biggest personel let-down might be Smog: love some of his records to death. bought a ticket months in advance. left really diaspointed. He played to a worshipingly quiet audience, and that coupled with the extreme deadpan delivery left me cold ... don't get me wrong, the deadpan is a big part of the reaon I like him ... there just didn't seem to be any emotional conection at all. it felt sterile. was a while before I could listen to his records again ... like them just as much. would travel a distance to see him again. interested to hear from anyone else who's seen him.

also Pram: very fond of their records, make me want to slap them live. geography teachers at a school disco.

And then did you decide you hate the rave bar?

i was mostly there to see Crooked Fingers. Superchunk, i'd always passively tolerated on other people's stereos, without giving there music much thought or attention. the Rave Bar... well, you can only blame so much on a venue.
