When I saw Orthrelm at Lemons (I think), a few years ago...well, what I was hearing didn't always sync with what I was seeing. Pretty remarkable.

Jim White. Hand's down.

This guy from Grand Forks, named Jeremy Swisher, was, on a consistent basis, the greatest musician I've ever seen. He just happened to play drums. It was like he was breathing and heaving. BIG guy. Great on any given day.

Doug Scharin was tremendous, circa 1997.

I've seen Danial Coughlin (sp?) twice, once with Come and once with Thaliz Zedek, and he's pretty incredible.

Danny from Enemymine was excellent, each and every (about 9) time I've seen them play.

Of course Todd.

Pretty much everyone mentioned so far is great, and I'd like to add Steve Shelton of Confessor and Loincloth. Very, very good drumming.

Bun E. Carlos. Watching him play an old perfectly-tuned Ludwig kit unmiced in a room for a drum clinic was great. The guy just knows how to make those things sing, and he does a constant subtle shuffle with his snare hand all the time.

I can't remember his name, but whoever was drumming for The Sights from Detroit around 2003 was awesome. He was basically a hard-hitting metronome with soul.

Dave Witte. Relapse Records all-star.

John Merriman. In Cephalic Carnage, also worked with Estradasphere.
