Also acronyms. I'M SO FUCKING TIRED OF ACRONYMS.
Not quite vaporizable, but when people use acronym to describe what is clearly an abbreviation, I bristle slightly; mostly because I know any attempt to clarify the distinction will be met with an eyeroll.
Hear hear,
Australia is very likely the worst offender with this.

Using “Begs the question” to mean “implores us to ask the following question”
“Valid” to mean a property of a statement - akin to justification or warrant.
“Would of”
Grrrr….

Yeah, everybody's fuckin' begging the question these days. You're a philosophy guy so I bet that's extra annoying. Nobody raises a question or is led to ask a question any more. Everybody's begging that question, using that phrase that doesn't mean what they think it means, until eventually the language has to give up and say FINE WHATEVER it does mean that too now, I guess. Way to go guys, you've screwed philosophy.
Idea for T-shirt: THAT'S NOT WHAT BEGGING THE QUESTION MEANS
Another idea for T-shirt: YOU'RE NOT DISINTERESTED, YOU'RE UNINTERESTED
Also, a prequel is something that is made after the first one but deals with events from before. It is NOT the thing that was made before the sequel.
ALSO also, and I'm looking at you Youtubers, a BIO PIC is a biographical picture. It is not two opics, so why you gotta call it a Bi Opic?

"ummm.... singh."
you need more time to think about it?
Actually pretty common for mundane things like that to require a second of thinking, like a reflex. Don't know why but it happens to me all the time. Maybe not with my name but when people ask my age I'm often like that, and I don't think I ever forget how old I am really.
very common, yes.
you have to train yourself not to do it, but it's a good habit that will give you confidence in that next job interview.
Some people have spoken language processing delays that are exacerbated by slight anxiety about these delays (ex: the pharmacist asks me my children's birth dates and my mind goes blank for a second. I have no trouble when the question is posed in writing.) . It isn't always something that you can train yourself not to do. It's pretty common in school kids who can demonstrate knowledge in writing but not out loud. Some people outgrow it, some don't.

Ha!
I want a t-shirt that says “If I wanted to speak to you, I would not be on the dance floor” in tiny font.

But bio-pic is an ENGLISH contraction. Surely they're familiar with a bio and a pic.
Nobody wanted to have to say quadpter.
