Yeah, it's great. Those are good clips, and Nomeansno were killer with Andy. But I think part of what people are really talking about when they compare the 7 or 8 years with Andy to everything that's happened in the 15 years since is less the lineup change and more the fact that the band is a lot older and they've slowed down a bit as a result. I first saw some of my favourite bands (the Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, Nomeansno) when a lot of fans were already labelling them as past their prime and moving on.

I was discussing the original lineup of Saturday Night Live with some people recently, and we were trying to figure out how Chevy Chase went from being hysterical to being an unfunny old grump in shitty Christmas movies. John Belushi, who's sadly no longer with us, will always be idealized because he didn't hang around long enough to get older and decline in his edginess.

So anyway, yeah. Nomeansno with Andy were 30, and now they're 50. I bet Andy's not even what he was back then, but because Tom Holliston's the one doing the job, he gets all the blame.

OK, so these guys are playing soon and in the spirit of taking the PREMIER ROCK FORUM's advice i'm gonna go see 'em.

Suggestions on a couple of starter albums would be greatly appreciated.

'wrong'
'worldhood of the world (as such)'
'dance of the headless bourgeoise'

they are all pretty good (including the live one, 'live and cuddly'), but those are good starters.

'0+2=1' I would say instead of 'Dance...' , but those are indeed good starters. I would suggest 'Why do they call me Mr. Happy?' or 'No One' for a more mature listen once you warm up to those albums first. Give those albums tons of time before you move on though.

Welcome to the World of NomeansNo. Youve made a wonderful choice my friend.

How 'bout: Bogart/Appice , Moon /Entwhistle, Sims / MacNeily, Bonham / Jones , Lemmy / Taylor , Rudd/Williams , Hurley/Watt, Flea / Smith etc...

Yeah, leaving Hurley/Watt out of the mix was my mistake. The rest of your list leaves me wanting, but that is only my humble opinion.

Flea/Smith left you having to deal with statutory rape "issues" which negates any innate talent they may have had.

You need to get out more. And I think the statutory rape charge was only due to Flea lifting a girl onto his shoulders at one of their shows. I'm not going to defend Flea however, he's got enough fucking money for lawyers, PR and such like.

Check your PM. Defending Flea is a losing prospect.

....Yeah...I didn't expect any response from you in PM (although you have clearly read my messages).

Fairly recent interview with Rob in his PJs on YouTube. I didn't know that John lives on land near Lund. I was in Lund this summer. Population is 42 or something.
