I just had a GREAT idea:

Why don't we run a system on the forums whereby you get temporarily banned (2 weeks) every time you reach a significant posting milestone, eg. every 50 posts. Then, after a thousand posts, you could be banned forever.

Alternatively, we could go for a 'words posted' banning system. Once you reach your limit, you're OUT!

Both of these systems have the beneficial side-effect of getting rid of TMH.

If people are upset with some posters on here, there is a simple fix which I've talked about at least twice before:

Send me a private message or email detailing what is going on. Maybe some links to posts, etc. Most of all, keep it quiet. Then, give me some time to investigate it and come to a conclusion on a good plan of action for dealing with the problem.

DO NOT start a thread entitled "Save the EA Forums", etc. You will be ridiculed mercilessly.

It is difficult for me to understand why people can't help themselves when it comes to trolls, or even people of disinterest to them.

Me, when I see a thread called "Early Child Development Homo Prevention Tips", it doesn't even interest me. It took me a few days to even open that thread. When I read it, I thought, "That's dumb. Obviously something either copied and pasted from somewhere else, or someone looking for attention." and I moved on.

I MOVED ON.

It's easy. Just like changing the channel on the TV or the radio.

If people would have simply ignored it, it would be buried by now. There wouldn't be a thread like this one either. (Although I've got to admit, it (this thread) has been fairly entertaining at times.)

Next. I sit and listen to Novotny tell me jokes (racist and/or otherwise) all day, everyday. I've gotten used to it. Most of the time, I tune him out, and that works well. Sometimes, something he will say will actually be pretty funny, and I will laugh. What I have come to realize though is that the world is full of all kinds of people, and we've got to learn to tolerate them. Especially when they are just "saying" stuff.
