I know I was pissed when they didn't honor their booking of Death In June/Der Blutharsch there a few years ago, but it wouldn't, and hasn't, kept me from seeing shows there since.

The asbestos thing, I'd heard about, but I don't know how serious the problem really was. I really doubt they were/are the only club with this problem. There's a lot of old buildings out there.

well, that's assuming dirty alternative chicks aren't the new wave of plastic fuckdolls, which they are.

You're really gonna have to do your homework if you want to boycott Tyson.

Yeah, that really doesn't surprise me. Sigh.

Yes, he's a creep and no one should have to put up with his creepiness in the workplace. But at the very least, he doesn't use sweatshops, pays a good wage, and doesn't hire plastic fuckdolls for his ads.

For me, I'd say it's a good alternative (for what it supplies) until a better one is found. Is there a better one already out there I don't know about?

Absolutely valid points. As I was making my own little list of places I don't give my dollars to, I realized how idiosyncratic it is. Sometimes certain articles or causes stick with you more than others, and AA's offenses stuck for me. I am happy there are showing crazy profitability while paying a living wage and giving health care in the States. It's great and I hope it spreads. It's not novel to use sex to sell anything and his plastic just-fucked dolls aren't too high up on the list for me about him sucking.

As for alternatives, are you needing an ethical source for the metallic leggings or the dog hoodies? ["har-har" emoticon] But for the coked out disco-trash look they are all about lately, recycled wares from thrift stores have them beat hands down. On many fronts.

Hey the Cheat, Why CVS?

It doesn't really make a lot of sense, but I was just annoyed at how hard and fast they exploded into Chicago. There was no lack of pharmacies around here. And the regional giant, Walgreens, is fine.

I grew up in New England, which I had always assumed was the CVS area. I'm equally annoyed when I see a Walgreens in Boston. So I boycott Walgreens in Boston.

I told you it doesn't make sense. I guess I just yearn for the days of regional chains and regional radio and regional accents and...
