I can also name about 5 or so Chicago area Shellac shows I -didn't- go to... and people always bitch that they "never play" in Chicago... pfft.

I think the only other bands I've seen more than 5 times are Dis, Dianogah, Silkworm and Six Finger Satellite...

Why the fuck am I not in fucking Chicago?

how many times have you seen a band.

I have seen local bands countless times. For a while The Gilroy's would play at the local coffee shop every other Thursday. After a few months of this I asked the guitar player for "exponential". The Gilroy's became Pilot Round the Sun and Wise and Foolish Builders and the sax player joined a reggae band. This started in 1998(?) and still goes on today.

Traveling to Philly I've never seen aband more than three times. Included in this group is:
Mercury Rev
Flaming lips
New Bomb turks
Rev. Horton heat
Bardo Pond
Magnapop
Supersuckers
Didgits
Dickies
Melt Banana

Falling in the middle are the bands I "carried stuff for":
Gerrymander Bob & The Bigger Lovers--The Diane Linkletter experience--The common Bass player in all these bands was Scott Jefferson. I never helped out once they started releasing stuff for Yep Roc
