Hour of Power #22 -- Starting Nov. 28th, 2005

What began as documenting one great album, never released on CD, for posterity's sake, turned into an entire hour dedicated to the work of Steve Albini, musician, producer, genius!
Amy plays the entire album 'Atomizer' from Big Black's 1986 release on Homestead Records, from beginning to end -- A couple skips and lots of pops, but still awesome!
She plays some Shellac for comparison, and a Pixies and a Nirvana song from releases engineered by Albini.
Quite a show, great to hear when you are stinking drunk!

Yes, Rotten Tanx, you are right third person references are irritating. I never know how to approach that whole writing press releases for myself thing, I will from now on write in the first person regarding my radio show. The Amy thanks you!

Brad, I am so glad you enjoyed hearing "Atomizer", I have only had my turntable set up for a few weeks now, and it has been AWESOME to listen to it again!

And, Rick, yes Lord DracCool seems to be quite a character, I never read his bio before you posted it here. Fishnet, go figure???
We are all indiviuals there, I'm sure a few of our DJs have played Dungeons and Dragons, but certainly they are not in the majority---How can a show hosted by a "DJ Dirty Boob" be bad?
You should give some of the shows a chance, I can attest that I have never played dungeons and dragons, growing up in Calumet City it was more about not getting killed, turned out, or hooked on H. And, I personally was too busy listening to band's like Big Black -- That was not some used record store find, that was purchased new back in '87 when I was still in High School.

So The Rich Man's Eight Track Tape doesn't count as a CD release?

Not really. It has the added EP stuff, and takes out Strange Things. So really, Strange Things hasn't been released on CD, but still, the statement is technically true.

Wow, I've never seen 'The Rich Man's Eight Track Tape', does the inside have the same text that goes along with each song on 'Atomizer'? What about the cover art? Are the songs the exact same mixes?
