lawrence is where KU is (Kansas University). it's a great college town with a kick-ass nightlife from everything i've heard. the only time i was there was for the funeral of one of my best friends in college, who's from there. the nightlife was as fun as i could hope for under the circumstances. but yeah, lots and lots of college kids who like to go out to bars and listen to music. and all pretty-like, scenery-wise.

Lawrence gave us Zoom, Panel Donor, Vitreous Humor etc... Did I mention Panel Donor!

hey mayfair, on the "ladies" tip... mike from fakir (main singer/rythmn guitar) just told me a week or two ago, he just got engaged! to a girl from lawrence, KA no less. and she is without a doubt an amazing woman.

There sure are a lot of closet Zoom, Panel Donor and Vitreous Humor fans out there. I had no idea. I really love Zoom and Vitreous.

I've never been/played there, but apparently the Replay Lounge is one of the coolest rock and roll bars ever. Get a kickass rock and roll bar in your town and bands will come play there too.

Replay is (was?) nice. There was also a great great all ages cement shack at the end of a long dirt road in the middle of a corn field there called the Outhouse that was legendary (mid to late 80's until?). Saw many amazing shows there including Rapeman among others. So good. As I remember, a woman's group wanted to boycott the Rapeman show due to their name alone (as I heard from the promoter) but could not find the damn place to do so.
