Shapes.
if you could combine Celebrate the New Dark AgeEP with the This Eclipse EP for a single vote, I might be swayed otherwise.
unfortunately you cannot.
I also left out the vibracobra 7", the split with New Radiant Storm King, the soundtracks and comps, cause whatever.

2This Eclipse is really some sort of amazing musically achievement. The songs, the sounds, the performance, the artwork...the totally package as it were. I like the rest, including the oft maligned Shapes, but This Eclipse is so perfect.
It also might have to do w/ the fact I saw them play an instore in Mpls in support of This Eclipse, it was only chance I had to seem them and they were very good.

I agree. flawless ep. the nice thing to do is to just play it on repeat four or five times. the end of "title track" flows back into "bat radar" so wonderfully.
has this ever been put on vinyl? I've only seen the CD.
kerble is right.

4I don't think it was ever released on vinyl, though I would love to find out that I am wrong

Pffft. What are you, Indian or something?
Seriously, though, This Eclipse and Dark Age smushed together would make their best full-length release.
I believe it was our friend Faiz here who said that Exploded Drawing is overrated, and I agree. That album is chock full o' filler, but does have some of their best stuff. I think it was Scott that said he only didn't like the second half of "Snowstorm in Iowa", but that's my favorite part of the album.
I'm taking Today's Active Lifestyles. I have no good reason, it's just my favorite.

610 years ago, I would have said Cor-Crane Secret in a heartbeat.
Unfortunately, that record just hasn't held up.
So I'll go with Celebrate...

7Count me as one of the Celebrate/Eclipse faction. They were unstoppable then. Of the two, though...geez.
Celebrate has "City Spirit," "Tragic Carpet Ride," and "Old Lystra."
Eclipse has "Bat Radar," "Titan Up," and "Title Track."
I'm gonna go with Eclipse, and change my mind after I cast my vote.

8I'd have to go with "Today's Active Lifestyles." I bought this record after I heard their song on the Merge 5th anniversary comp, and it completely slayed my face. Action Vs. Vibe and Gemini Cusp, back to back kickass.
The other albums are good, "Shapes" is my least favorite of all of them.
Also, the song Lull off the S/T album is probably their best song.

9"Today's Active Lifestyles" because of "Time Isn't On My Side".

10unlike the tortoise poll this one is easy for me: active lifestyles. first one i heard, so dunno maybe it's cheap sentiment but really it seems to me like the finest album they have recorded... also one of the finest albums any band has ever recorded.
