Keeping my fingers crossed that MES and company will finally make it over here w/ out hassle (they were supposed to play here twice and it got cancelled both times).

2I saw Mark E. Smith at the Echo Lounge in 03 and he was horrible. It was essentially Mark E. Smith and his latest backup band. They came on almost two hours late after I had to endure two bad opening acts. Smith seemed semi-incoherent and I couldn't decipher any of his vocals. Is this indicative of anyone else? I'm almost afraid to try again and I love all the old Fall discography.

3the current fall is a good fall.
not a great fall though.
and yes, MES has lost control of his vocals to a larger extent these days. i think he's trying to actually sing but it doesn't always translate very well. the last few albums have been pretty good. they tend to play exclusively from the newest records as per usual.
'fall heads roll' had some fantastic tracks. 'blindness' in particular really expands when played live.

hey, i was at that show too! i thought it was "good" but kind of in a novel sort of way...kind of bad but in an endearing sort of way...i dunno...i think i learned my lesson and shan't be traveling to see The Fall again...i don't regret having made that decision in the past though, at least i can say "yeah, i've seen The Fall"...

5The Fall! She is one of the more bizarre shows I've seen here in Tucson, Italia, USA! I check my time, no Fall, just crazy DJ dude spinning tracks w/ visuals in backgrnd. Suddenly, someone jump up, say, "Hey! They're playing!" If you call 'playing' a reenactment of "The Day Earths Stood Still." Mark E Smith, he fiddled w/ amps & keyboards when singing into two mics, changed blazer maybe approx. 5 times, and walked off stage twice. First time, MES comes back with some random dude, had him sing 'chorus' to "Boxoctosis." Whah? Still a good live band, made for belly laughs the whole night through.
