Hostels in Chicago

That hostel isn't all that close to the Hideout and is in a very dense neighborhood with lots of traffic so plan on giving yourselves at least an hour to get to the Hideout if yr relying on CTA. Half an hour in a car.

It may not seem far when you map it but try driving west on North Avenue on a Saturday in the summer, especially now that the bridge is closed, and you'll see what I mean. At least I think it's closed, but I'm not really sure because I ALWAYS AVOID NORTH AVENUE AT ALL COSTS!!

In fact west on Fullerton will suck, west on Armitage will suck, and west on Belmont will suck at least as far as Southport.
it's not the length, it's the gersch

I was looking into staying at the Chicago International Hostel. It's quite a bit further away, but it'll end up costing me about $100 less. I'm not so sure now. Just getting to the Hideout sounds like a pain in the ass, even from Arlington House, and it can't be any better from further away.

i THINK that's where my friend and i stayed back in 2001...it was a place to stay...the bathrooms seemed to have been left in a state of mid-repair, but that was years ago...though stuff like that seems to just be an ongoing thing for hostels...anyway it wasn't too bad...i imagine you don't plan on doing much more than sleeping there, so yeah...i might be wrong, it was a couple years ago and i haven't thought about it since...but that name does SOUND really familiar...and if it is the same place at least i don't have any horror stories or anything...
