Not crap. I recently obtained their two-CD singles set and like it. The drumming on those early tracks that puts Ringo to shame.

Hands down the best British group...ever.

That I don't think that The Kinks are the best band from the UK. A short list of amazing bands that in my opinion could rival them in greatness:
The Who
Led Zeppelin
PIL
This Heat
early to mid era Blur (Modern..., Parklife, Great...)
MBV
Slowdive
and the list goes on.

That's my point.
