"I saw ya!" said by Pete at the end of "Happy Jack" (apparently Keith Moon was hiding in the studio and peeked out right at that moment).

Love stuff like that.

That kind of thing can also be really calcuating and cynical in a weird way. Like, I heard that song by Jet on the radio. The guy coughs at the beginning. At the end you hear a few people clapping. This is a bunch of bullshit. It's fake spontaneity. It was planned out in advance to give the fake impression that these guys are just off-the-cuff rock 'n rollers and anything goes.

very not crap.

when my oooold band recorded in my parents basement many years ago, me and the other "singer" were doing vocals on a song that had the back and forth wanna be fugazi thing and then stopped for like 10 seconds of silence and went into an instrumental part...when we were doing the vocals, we were also drinking martinis (naturally) and after doing what was the "money" take i must have forgotten to hit the stop button and also insinuated a silly conversation which i forgot about until after the cd was pressed because once the cd was done, playback sounded as follows:

noise and yelling
a dramatic stop
the following faintly heard over the silence

other guy: yeah, we should like...get naked and lick peanut butter off of each other
andyk: hehehe...yeah...

instrumental part

the best part is that as the instrumental part started, evidentally me and the other guy clicked our martini's together (in celebration) creating a loud "chime" that was perfectly in time with the music.

great stuff.

andyk who is listening to Victoria right now in memory of the midge

I can't see how anybody would hate this. Bands you love showing their work? Love it!

How about a comprehensive list for those who collect things like this? I'll try to think of some.

Does the conversation on that one song off Pod count? It's not really about recording, but I heard it was happening at the same time, and thus included surreptitiously.

There is a great one at the end of Electric Lady Land in which the song ends and the tape keeps rolling. You can hear Jimi talking to who ever was there very faintly about going out or something. It goes on for about 30 seconds as I remember before the records finally comes to an end. I love that crap!

Oh, now I have to go get it out and listen to it.
