I found this article to be "awesome". Actually I found the comments to be even better.

Happy pedals, safe in the knowledge they're on an uncrowded stained wood board, not crammed in with Joyos/Behringers, not being swapped out on a whim or clinging on to shitty worn out velcro for dear life. They've got high quality patch cables, room to roam, room to grow. Sigh. How the other half live.

6L-R: Latent Lemon Audio Hurtsenboostenstien, Fuzzrocious Demon, Donner Boost Killer, Korg Pitchblack.Got the Donner as it was 20 new off of amazon but it's just okish. Debating trying it against a Tube Screamer Mini or one of the EP Boosters everyone seems to love.

8this thing is finally almost fully proper. played the first show with it tuesday. at first it was a little overwhelming and i only used a couple of the pedals, but by a couple songs in it got really natural. i broke a string a third of the way through the set and i hadn't really gotten out and tuned the backup, so i busted a noisy solo into the loop pedal, then just played the same solo back from the looper while i switched guitars and quickly -sort of- tuned. the backup i was using was the bass player's epiphone les paul and, as he's shorter than me and wears his guitar a little higher than me, it ended up being pretty high on me. not quite The Oh Sees high, but pretty high, and i kind of loved it. i went through a phase a long time ago when i wore my guitar pretty high, but i had forgotten how much more accessible your pinky is when you raise the thing north of the 'look cool' zone.
anyways, i've been a gtr->tuner->boost->amp guy for nearly the entire 28 or so years i've been playing guitar. putting together this board has kind of reinvigorated my excitement for the guitar. also it's so handy to have all your cables and picks and everything in one place and not knocking around in some bag or suitcase.of course i've only begun my tonequest. i'm already planning on upgrading the delay and loop pedals, the mxr distortion+ (modded with true bypass and 'the original tone chip' or something, btw) is probably not going to make the final cut, and there are at least three more dirt pedals on my short list.

10current board. i've had a bit of time now to live with things and move things around a bit. i still have a few pedals on my 'to buy' list, but for the moment i'm really happy with the sounds at my disposal. it makes me wish i had more time to play guitar.
