Heavy sound for Tele Deluxe 72

I wanted to ask you for advice. As was looking for heavy sound (not metal heavy but like neurosis heavy, brutal and fat) i bought Fender Tele Deluxe reissue with too humbuckers, but the stock humbuckers are weak and holow. I have hear thet as its allder boady and maple neck, the for example SD distortin pickups would just bring more treble? can Youa dvise some pickups for more low end to alder boady? Some Dimarzio or something like that?

Not when you are talking about ceramics. The DD has a ton of high-end and a ton of output as well.

The JB and DD (both use the same coil winds, just different magnets) are both pretty heavy under high-gain, but they are also very bright. They were both a little "flat" for me when clean. I prefer the reverb-y chime you can get from a PAF- style pickup, so overall, I prefer the Duncan Customs. The Duncan '59 is always a good stand by.

Many pickup manufacturers offer exchange policies that allow you to experiment with several different models.

I use sovtek midget 50 with orange 4x12 cab. I play with rat pedal and i have nice fat clean tone. My other guitar is first edition PRS santana Se with jb and jazz pickups. Sounds good for me, except i could see why people call jb a little bright, because the clean sound si ok, but i could be more fat.

As i bought this Tele Deluxe 72 reissue i discovered that the wide range pickups ar false, as they are just ordinary humbuckers put in the wide nickle cover. They are not like original deluxe large humbuckers, that were very hot and similar to travis bean humbuckers. AND THERE 250k POTS NOT 500k LIKE IT WAS FOR THE ORIGINAL FENDER TELE DELUXE 72.

This guitar sound good but i cant get the balls for more low end sound. I am not searching for pantera metalhead distortion, just more powerfull sound.

Thank to Your replies that were really helpfull i am I thinking that i could try bkp warpig in the neck and maybe dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge or some duncan distortion or custom. I just really cant decide.

The reissue pickups use a completely different magnet than the originals. You're right - they look the same but are a totally different animal underneath the cover.
