6Elvis Costello (underrated as a guitarist, not as a singer-songwriter). He's got some really interesting guitar parts low in the mix on some earlyish songs.

First 2-3 records, some great locked-in guitar interplay. The first record of "The Name Of This Band Is..." live album is killer. Before Robert Fripp/Adrian Belew/8 gazillion overdubs were drafted in. I like that stuff as well, but the early stuff is ace - a really tight two guitar band
