This movie is dissed in a number of different threads, and although I had previously thought there was a crap/not crap on it, I cannot seem to locate it.

I feel the need to consolidate the disgust that is felt towards this film because this forum is the only place, in the whole world it would seem, where everyone doesn't gush about how great it is. Just this past week I tried to argue about how overrated and retarded it was, and didn't even manage to dent this magical shield that prevents rational thought in human beings who like this movie. I think DARPA should start to research it.

I liked it alot. And cringed alot.

CRAP without a particle of waffle. Unbelievably bad. Every sitcom douche in the country thinks he's going to become a Respected Emerging Director based on shit like this.

It's uncanny just how bad and juvenile this movie is, and I'm baffled by the response to it.

i may have said this in another thread, or maybe i've just stated it aloud so many times it seems possible, but garden state was just a shitty vehicle for zach braff to fullfill his fantasy of making out with a socially unacceptable natalie portman. holy fuck did i hate this sack of crap. and i tend to question the integrity of friends who claim to like this movie too. why? why?

ian holm's performance was decent (but what do you expect? he's a knight.) and their relationship was okay. but overall this stupid movie was a host to quirky trickery and quiet scenes meant to introduce the concept of independent films to retards whose leonard cohen is ben harper. there are few movies i hate more than this one (satiricon being one).

I thought it was ok until the pathetically weak ending. It was clear that no efford had gone into it whatsoever.

scrubbs is just fine. john c mcginley is a favorite actor of mine, even if he has come to look like a former porn star in his older age.

garden state is a fine arbiter for that purpose. personally i use "friends."
