i've always thought this!! i mean, this initial post here is pretty random, but i agree 100%. there are tons of albums that i really only listen to 5 of the songs anyways. the same with some double albums - i always thought smashing pumpkins "mellon collie" made an iffy double record, but would've made a pretty kick ass single disc.

of course, you get these ep's that are only 5 amazing songs, and then you go "aww, man! i wish they'd have made a full length!!"

umm, I think a lot of Prince's albums would fall into this category

Confusion is Sex, minus Protect Me You, Making the Nature Scene, becomes about 25 minutes.

And on a different note, Slates plus Hex highlights would be the best album. Not the best Fall album, _the_ best album.

terraform without first song is an ep. then it's 7 songs in 24 minutes

EP or not, it contains "House Full of Garbage" rather than "Didn't We Deserve" and therefore is nothing I'm interested in.
