Quality stuff. Some models are harder to build (or at least take more skill and experience) than others. I have the A12 cards, which are patterened after the API 312. I also have original 1972 vintage API's and the SC stuff sounds very similar, though more clear and hi-fi. They still do that API grit sound, but not quite as pronounced as the real thing.

I don't know much about the other topologies other than what I've heard and read. It's real gear though. And the company is top notch from a customer service standpoint. Buy with confidence and build with care and you'll be happy...

I don't have experience with the preamps in the studio, but the guy is cool, and the product is solidly built. I am a fan of customizing your setup.

The guy is cool. I used to live in the same warehouse complex as him in Oakland. Ran a nice little project studio and was fun to be around.

They sound great and for the money are hard to beat.
I have heard the JLM Little Animals are good also and are similar in design.

A lot of people have knocked off the 312a's.

JLM Audio maybe a better bet as Australian customs and import charges
will make Seventh Circle much less of a bargain.
I've built the JLM1290 and it stands up to the other
(Sytek,UA,Trident) pre's i have.
