Alright so I was assisting a friend of mine in recording this "old-school" hardcore band a few days ago. In the middle of setting everything up, the guitarist looks at me and says "How is the GAINAGE going to be on my guitar." I looked at him and replied "What exactly do you mean by gainage?" He says "You know, how GAINY will it be?" I answered "Don't worry man, it will be loud." These guys reminded me of the 20yr olds I played with in a Metallica cover band when I was 14. Painful, very painful.

Anyways, once we got past the shitty equipment we got a pretty good guitar sound. 421 slightly off center for lows, 414 on axis for highs, and a ML52 ribbon at a bit of a distance. fun fun fun...

"Gainage" was always my favorite Descendents song.

damn, i haven't thought about the descendents forever i remember hearing firehose on a speedfreaks video, i tried to match the song to the rolling credits, ended up thinking it was the descendents i bought some stuff. it was weird looking at the cover of "enjoy" and then hearing the music thinking that i was gonna get something like "captain" or "windmilling".the lyrics-"i queefed... enjoy! smell my love... enjoy! make the most of my butt toast, enjoy my good friends enjoy".

This guy I used to work with once told me that he was having a problem with his RE20. The next day the guy comes to me and says, "Oh, I figured out the problem with the mic. I didn't have the phantom power turned all the way up."

haha, sucks that they have to use that phantom power on the RE20... must be another one of their RE20's with extra features.... GET THE NEW RE20! Now needing PHANTOM POWER! oooo... aaaaa....
