Shakey, Neil Youngs biography, is pretty great. The more I liked the album being covered, the more I enjoyed that part of the book. Consequently, it was a chore getting through the early years/80s. The author had a lame habit of ending chapters with Behind the Music-esque setups for the next.
Please Kill Me is often maligned, and for pretty good reason. Still enjoyed it.
While I wouldn't necessarily call The Ground Beneath Her Feet a 'rock book,' I think its fair to include in this list. Good, imaginative stuff.
I hated Our Band Could Be Your Life.
Lester Bang's published stuff is well worth reading.
What else am I missing out there?

2By the drummer of Semisonic, the "Closing Time" band. The Problem With Music as told by someone it happened to.

3Dance of Days is very enjoyable if you like the Dischord stuff.

4Up and Down with the Rolling Stones was funny and "decadent", if I am remembering things right. Worth the price of admission just for the Keith Richards hovercraft story.
Crazy From the Heat (David Lee Roth's autobiography) is really good.
And I've not read it, but that Nikki Sixx book is supposed to be outstanding.

6I looked but I think we just ended up talking about this in other threads as a tangent.
As far as I can tell, this is the first dedicated thread.
