It happened this past weekend in Glasgow seemingly totally out of the blue. I am on the Jandek mailing list and the people there are FLIPPING OUT!
I thought some of you in here would find this of interest.
Others...not so much.
I am excited about it myself.

Jandek LIVE!
3To me, this move by Jandek (and apparently the show was recorded and will be released on Corwood as a CD/DVD) draws a line in the sand, separating the people who care about his music more than anything else (they should be very happy about this) from the people who only were interested in The Mystery Of Jandek (they are sad, I'm sure). I hope everybody jumping off the bandwagon at least twist their ankles.
I bet all somebody did was ask, and he said yes.

Jandek LIVE!
4according to David Tibet of Current 93 who played the night before, the orgainzers spent 7 months hashing out the details w/ Jandek. Little more than "asking", but still really fucking cool.
When I heard I had call my wife and freak out on the phone to someone for a bit.

Jandek LIVE!
7When I first heard, I was suspicious of someone putting one over on the J-list. "Guesswhat? We saw Jandek live! And you didn't! Haw haw--psych! Haw haw haw!"
But so far this seems legit. And it's great. It had to be totally mindblowing for the people there. If he's in Pittsburgh on November 5, he is, of course, welcome to drop by the Open Mic Jandek Cover Night show I'm doing at the Forbes & Craig Kiva Han.
