new year - end is near

I didn't even know there was a new Brokaw record out. That guy just kind of slips by without telling anybody.

the album he put out this year is actually the score for an independent film. the film is worth seeing too, if you ever have a chance. it has what (i am pretty sure this is right) was the last live performance by joe strummer before he died. and a bunch of live footage of seam, too.

_let it bleed_, 1969

_generic flipper_, 1982

'69/'82 are equivalent years in many ways. which is why they were chosen, i assume!

i don't know that i'm qualified to name one for this year, as i haven't listened to that many new records. i will be the 1,000th person to call out _the end is near_, however. i listened to that a whole bunch and vastly enjoyed it.
