36 today!
WTF?
How many more soldiers have to die for this shit?
3Don't forget the civilians. Civilians are dying, too.
I just don't know what to do anymore.
I really don't.

Of course.
During the Vietnam conflict as many as 3,000 american soldiers could die on one day, and that conflict took many years to peter out. 36 in one day is not a particularly high figure. Saying that, there is no draft at the moment, so the U.S. cannot easily sustain high casualty rates. It is more likely that the nature of the asymmetric warfare being carried out against the coalition forces will soon cause serious morale problems.

5I dont know what the American media said about this but on the news here in England they were quite surprised that it wasnt mentioned in the press conference this morning til about 10 questions in.

I'm not sure that I read this sentence right.
I think that it says, "Stop caring."
But that cannot be right.

7"...this shit." ?????
WTF back at you.
I'm sure there are hundreds, thousands of soldiers over there that would love nothing more than to pull your insides out through your asshole for characterizing what they are doing as "Shit."
Soldiers from around the globe are serving honorably (despite your opinion) for the eventual freedom of a country mired in misery for decades upon decades. Say what you want about the collective motive, but don't broad-stroke your bias and assert it towards what brave men and women are doing in Iraq - doing what you would seemingly never consider doing yourself, by the way.
Rather, use your uninformed eyes to look over those liberal-shaded spectacles for a moment and try acknowledging what a difference these soldiers are making. Making for the OVERWHELMING majority of people who welcome just the faintest glimpse at freedom, democracy and a life that doesn't include the possibility of having themselves and their family members dropped into a shredder because they took a dump at the wrong time of day.
There's a whole wide world of information out there beyond CNN, Michael Moore and Dan Rather, friend. Tap into it. Then maybe you'll see what the mainstream isn't feeding you. That people in Iraq can't wait to be free - and not a single one of them gives one rat's peanuty shit whether or not there were weapons of mass destruction in their country or not.
Big pictures are so often easy to see, but hard to understand - for some.

8Oh --- And before everyone starts pounding away on me for being a "typical bible-thumping, gay-hating, 'Love it or leave it' right wing, republican zealot...
I'm an Independent.

96-4-3,
I don't wish to speak for the cap'n, but I don't think he was referring to soldiering in the same manner that you accused him of. I had to do a "ctrlF" to find where the word "shit" was (the title..duh) and I read "this shit" as the gov'ts total disregard for the truth of the matter and the risking the lives of soldiers on the basis of false goals (freedom, democracy and the hunt for WMDs in Iraq? no--oil custody and jockeying power for the jewish state in the middle east).
That, my friend, is definitely "shit."

But you're right- there is a world of information out there besides Fox News (you mentioned them, I'm pretty sure):
