If I decide to ever get another "cheap" bass, I'm hoping I can find a T40 with the burst finish. I love the way those things look, and if it plays anything near the way a P-bass does, I'll probably be that much more into it.

Easily the most confusing diagram I've ever read for a guitar. I think event the Jaguar Bass one was easier to follow.After dealing w/ J Burns' weight relieved LPDC, I think a router and a 1/8" maple slab could do wonders for these things...but I'm unwilling to try it on mine. Seriously, could router out 1.5 or 2 pounds of ash.

Might have to get the old Backbreaker out and give it a go.

I love T-40's. As soon as I find a black on black that is in good condition, and I have an extra $300-$400 to toss around, I'm getting one. I don't think you can find a better quality bass for less or even around what they go for. They are getting more expensive though, so I better hurry.

I have one I traded a friend for and it's just not doing it for me. The neck just feels kinda unusual - wide across the nut but thick across the back. I want to put new strings on it and set the action better before I completely give up on it though. Visually, the black ones look tougher than a Viking's hell-hammer. Maybe even too tough for my dumpy old bald-ass.Keep me in mind if you decide to part with it. I have zero disposable funds at the moment.
