This past week i have been really getting into lots of albums that i havent liseten to, in forever. Dont you just love it when you go back to old album and think to yourself "god i forgot how good this was" ?

Then after 4 hours of repeated pixies and fugazi it hit me. i havent bought an album or listened to anything good lately that has gotten me so excited about music. Whats going on? is there not anything good anymore?

I began to feel a little music panic and i think if anyone knows how i feel or at least knows of a band that will save me from this horrible music place that i seem to be in, please share, its urgent

The new Charlotte Hatherley single 'Bast Ardo' is the best pop song I have heard for about 5 years.

The latest Cheer Accident album 'Introducing Lemon' has been widely praised on this board and is the next CD I intend to buy. I'm just getting into some of their older stuff and I'm liking it a lot.

Mike Keneally Band's 'Dog', from last year, is brilliant.

Cardiacs have a new album out this year, apparently. Rejoice!

Pick up some Chinese Stars, and stuff by some of their members' old outfit Arab On Radar. Their lead singer sounds like the crazy sex!
Liars! Get the last Liars album and pray that the new one is even more visceral (what a journalistic cliché of a word that is to describe something!).
Wolf Eyes! Lightning Bolt! Deerhoof!

Ain't no time like the present. Rock music is being made and played now that's just as good as anything before it. The latest album by the Ex - _Turn_ - is one of the best rock albums ever made. And it's a double album.

The Pixies play(ed) great party-rock. It is what it is. I like this band well enough, but I don't understand how excited intelligent people get about this band, this The Pixies. And Fugazi haven't broken up, have they? _The Argument_ was great (Did anybody else note how *INSANELY FUCKING PRESCIENT* that album's insert and lyrics were re: 9/11?).

Thanks entirely to this board I've also been listening to lots of quite recent Deerhoof, the New Year, Nina Nastasia, and Blonde Redhead, too.

Nostalgia's for the deprived. Don't deprive yourself of good music, Ms. Lyn. Partake! Partake!

Also: Spoon has an album out in May; the Silver Jews in July. My toes are crossed.

I don't know you from Eve, but this feeling, which you may or may not be describing, is often nothing more than the results of no longer being 15, 16, 17, 18, no?

But this feeling, she is the false feeling! Music is still boss! Music is still to make me have the cry! But is different, because music never give me to cry when I had the seventeen for years.

Oh, music. So good.

I will admit this:

I have not sat down and listened to the Pixies in almost a decade. For some reason, I decided to buy the LP version of "Surfer Rosa."

The last time I listened to that album, it was probably at some party, or on some crappy headphones.

So I put it on at home, and I'll be goddamned if it didn't kick an amazing amount of ass.

Hats off to Mr. David Lovering, who blasts through the entire LP with precise glee.
But I digress. Please continue with the squirrel circuit semantic debate.
