I think that pretty much covers it.

There are lots - but the one that always sticks in my mind is the opening riff from Tumbling Dice, the cool, slowly descending thing. Something about it is so emotive for me, & it's all of 3 seconds long, if that.

But the best riff ever is all of Supernaut. This song is on Black Sabbath Volume 4.
