Reaper routing help
1Hey folks,We're currently trying to mixdown in reaper via an analog console. We're using a MOTU MKII and MKIII. Playing 18 tracks via the board and recording back into reaper on a set of MOTU's inputs (MK3 1/2) and monitoring via MKII on the stereo pair remaining. It works as planned until you play back the stereo mixdown file. On playback there is some weird panning flangy thing going on where center panned material is louder and panned items appear flangy/phasey. I'm not sure what is going on but it almost sounds like you have two mono signals being sent individually to the Main Out 1/2 on the playback motu. On playback we have the mixdown channels in Reaper soloed so everything else is quite. No monitoring is on. I've got track 22 set up as a stereo input track from the MKII 7/8 pair. Our quick fix was to set up two mono mix down tracks (22/23) and then feed the board L to channel 22 and board R to channel 23. Then on playback we pan each channel hard L/R and all is well. We're then just rendering the two mono tracks panned hard L/R to a 24-bit wav via Reaper. We can follow this approach but it seems cumbersome. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?
