Not Crap, an original painter, very good artist. His work is being rediscovered now that he has been dead for awhile. Not his fault that a poorly made biopic is the most information anyone has about the guy. Patronage by Andy Warhol is a very good sign of his validity in my estimation as Warhol was a very GREAT artist.

I didn't know anything about this guy even though I had heard his name all over the place. I watched that Metallica "Some Kind of Monster" movie where Lars Ulrich sells his original Basquiat paintings for millions of dollars. The volume was down and both myself and my friend thought that Lars had painted them. We believed this for 24 hours.

If I can believe that Lars Ulrich painted them and hold that belief for more than five minutes, then I have to say CRAP. I have to admit, even when I thought he painted them, they looked kinda rad. I sank into deep depression.

I have a deep love of Warhol, but Basquiat's work makes me ill to look at. I've never liked it or found it interesting in any degree, besides the basic numbskull act of writing words on city walls.

His paintings never did anything to me....crap.
