The more I listen to All Roads Lead To Ausfahrt, the more I think:

a) this might be their most popular record to date
b) this could be their most polarizing record to date

It's going to be quite an adjustment from the very bass heavy, mean, and opus-like One/No One album from 2000, and also from the more straightforward My Game via Hanson Brothers. Shorter songs, very lush production, bass is not in-yer-face high in the mix this time (but still very present, of course), more John and Tom influences on the album (therefore more Hanson Brothers sounding... but the Hansons have retreated anyway... )

The last (titled) song on the album is borderline alt-rock/punk commercial radio playable. The first song is anything but.

It's an incredible album, and I think many will highly rate this one in the Top 3 at least... but some may feel it's a bit too slick... I dunno... it's one of my favorite albums of the year, hands down.

Which albums have you heard so far? Maybe I can suggest something that you wont mind the vocals so much.

EDIT: The album "One" is pretty instrumentally-based I would say, although its not the best one.

Just get "Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy" - as I said before here, its the best one.

If you don't like the vocals it's going to be the same for all of it. Although everything up to 0+2=1 has a mix of Rob Wright and Andy Kerr singing, which gives it more of a balance.

Oh, and Dance of the Headless Bourgoisie is their best album.

Still haven't heard the new one. I find it hard to believe it's really horrible though...
