I wasn't dragged into it but a few years ago (actually a lot of years ago) during a visit to Ireland myself and fellow travellers drove north of Dublin to a campsite near a small village. I can't remember the name of the place or the pub we went into after hitching our tents but it was a mistake. As we walked in the darts stopped in mid air and the palpable sense of threat rose as the assembled (to our minds) violent republicans heard our English accents.

We had a pint of Guinness' (with the longest most uncomfortable top up wait you could imagine) then fucked off and spent the rest of the evening in the lobby of a hotel across the road.

I've probably been in a lot worse come to think of it but this was at the beginning of the evening so i can remember it.

I have also just realised that the lack of detail in this tale made it not worth telling. Never mind.

We don't plan on staying here for much longer. We're waiting to see where my lady finds a teaching job. If it's in CPS, we'd have to relocate to chicago city limits in 6 months.
