Record stores in St. Louis?

1
I have to spend Thanksgiving weekend in St. Louis.

I plan on giving thanks to whoever it is we're supposed to be thanking by doing some record shopping.

I know nothing of St. Louis. Can any of you who live there help?

Only looking for new and used vinyl.

Also, we're flying there so I probably won't have access to a car. Is there decent public transit?

You can take light rail from the airport to the Delmar Loop, walk a few blocks up Delmar and hit Vintage Vinyl. It's a big store with decent selection of both new and used records, and regular in-store performances. The neighborhood has plenty of good places to eat, especially if you like Thai food.

I spent many many hours there.

Yeah, still there. It moved a few stores down within that same plaza about five or so years ago. It's nowhere near as good anymore. They completely cut back their vinyl selection, with the 7"s taking the biggest hit. They may have stopped carrying them completely. The heyday of awesome and hard-to-find music bursting out of the shelves has long since passed. With no more Darin at the helm, the selection has gotten pretty bland.
