I guess I'm not done yet.

Seriously, the names of those bars drive me up a wall. The only thing worse are the names of our Taco/burrito shops:

Taco Burrito Express
Taco Burrito Express Jr.
Taco burrito Express #3
Taco Burrito King
Taco Burrito King Jr.
Jr. Taco Burrito King
Supreme Taco Burrito Express
Supreme Taco Burrito Express Jr.

etc.
etc.

Fuck. A little bit more creativity wouldn't hurt guys.

That's what I'm talkin bout.

A Sudanese "wacky" theme bar/restaurant (like Bennigan's) named Khartoum Kharacters. A South American Hooters-type joint called Titicaca. A gay Canadian bar called Mounties. Work with it, people.

It's $3 with the new tax that kicked in the first of the year. If I'm drinking in the City, I usually end up there by the end of the night. Christina's is also one of the only bars in the City that has a HEATED SMOKING ROOM. That doesn't matter now, but it was nice to have the last few months. Aside from the horrible karaoke on Saturday nights, I love everything about that place.

There is one thing this world DOES NOT NEED, howenver...another bullshit "Irish Pub". Gag me with a spoon.

O'Neils
Chief O'Neils
Sammy O'Neils
Sammy O'Mallies
Finnly O'Mallies
Shamrock O'Mallies
Hidden Shamrock
The Galway Shamrock
Galway Arm's
etc
etc

Fuck you Irish Bars. Fuck you, and the hidden shamrock you rolled into town on.

You dot whole city blocks with the same facade and cater to sports loving, frat boy meat heads.

Right on, although I give a break to the Abbey Pub and Ginger's Ale House, who have been around for many years and where the TVs are more likely than not playing a soccer game from the UK or Mexico. Plus, both places have pretty good food.

The best Irish place around was the typically named but great Harp & Shamrock Club on Fullerton, which was suddenly closed and torn down a few years ago. They would give you a little pink pig when you had a drink coming and there were always steaming hot towels for you to put on your face to invigorate and inspire you to have another eight pints.

Does anyone want to watch college basketball with me (at this bar) before the Bear Claw send-off show?

Quenchers is on Western, and Paddy O'Splaine's is near the corner of Montrose/Western. We'd just have to catch the bus when the time came.

There might be basketball on Saturday and Sunday, too.
