Where I grew up (Fife in Scotland), deep fried pizza was very common. As is heart disease in that area. I wouldn't eat one now but the damage is already done.

I once played a gig with a band from Bradford who said that a chip shop near them sold a pizza with a base made from chicken. Scary.
