This is my drummer s old 22 Earth Ride. It was magic. He lost it a few years ago after putting it in hock and not coming back to pick it up. He got another one later, but it wasn t anywhere near as good. He describes the old one as being much more œmusical. We both miss it and want to find another one, but it seems as if the only thing we can do is buy one and sell it off if it s not like what he had before. How inconsistent are these things? Are there any details we might look for or ask about that would indicate it s a particularly good cymbal?

I've heard several (and owned one) of these in both 20 and 22 and they all pretty much sounded the same and not in a good way. The only thing I can guess was maybe his was a bit lighter and thinner.

That's a big bowlful of zero wash, but it rules. I'm gravitating towards a pre-serial number Paiste 20" 602 for a space rock ride. I may crack it, but danger is my business.

Huh. Saw my first ad for Sabian's FRX line yesterday. Despite doing working hard on checking my swing the past few years, I am still a hack, and will probably always be a basher, so these look interesting.Wish I had a set of these around for my last few recording sessions.https://www.sabian.com/cymbals/index/se ... anguage:enphpBB [media]

I'm convinced I would just hit them harder until they became a dented hot mess.Pro tip: use drafting tape instead, you'll be able to peel it off cleanly a lot easier a few years down the road if you end up wanting to sell it.
