I am a PC guy, and I know this is probably a pain in the ass, but can you make a back up of everything and put it on an HD and basically start from scratch? Or in Windows there are restore points I can revert my PC to (like a few months back), is there an option like that (pardon I haven't used a Mac in 20 years).Bubber wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 9:42 amGoddammit. Yeah, mine were both going perfectly until these past few days, 16+ tracks on Reaper absolutely no problems at all.tommy wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 8:38 amThis is the way. I'm personally running a 2009 Mac Mini with Snow Leopard using a Digi002R and Pro Tools 8LE. It's old as shit and still works perfectly since I disabled internet on it 6 years ago. I can easily record 8 simultaneous tracks without a hiccup. Somehow.Owen wrote: Wed Jan 05, 2022 5:57 pm Computer is set to never update, and I took it off the internet back in May and have not updated Reaper since then.
So I am now wondering what sort of computer nerdery can resolve these problems now that they do exist. Some sort of permissions repair, defragmenting, something...?
Unfortunately I don't have any PC access for remote install; I probably have a 23-year-old PC laptop in storage, but....
I guess I would just start eliminating culprits systematically. Eliminate any program on the machine you aren't using, reinstall stuff...computers! Who know?!
